Bath and District Group Website

Welcome to the Bath & District Group of Advanced Motorists.

We are a lively group with around 200 members catering for all IAM vehicles apart from motorcycles which are covered by the Wiltshire and Bath Advanced Motoricyclists group in this area.

Our primary purpose is to coach prospective advanced motorists up to the IAM test standard, and we have around 18 trained observers who give their time and effort to do so. Our associate scheme caters for car, minibus and HGV drivers. Learn more about how our scheme operates here.

Additionally, we hold regular monthly group meetings open to all and which usually include a motoring related talk from a guest speaker. We typically attract about 40 members each month, and newcomers are made especially welcome. There are also occasional external events such as skid pan, police operations control centre, fire station etc. A quarterly newsletter is published to keep members and associates up to date with our activities. Existing IAM members (i.e. passed the advanced test and current IAM national members) can join the group for only £7.50 per annum - simply apply to the group membership secretary - 01225 314201
